Optimising HTML5 games for instant browser play

Tips on bundle size, asset compression, and responsive canvas sizing so your game loads fast on mobile.

Players abandon games that take more than three seconds to become interactive. Here is how we recommend structuring your HTML5 build for Kithplay.

Keep your initial download under 5 MB when possible. Lazy-load level data and audio after the first frame. Use WebP or compressed PNG spritesheets instead of individual large PNGs.

Size your canvas to a fixed internal resolution (1280×720 is our default) and scale with CSS so the game looks sharp on retina displays without rewriting game logic.

Finally, test inside an iframe — that is how every title runs on the portal. Avoid top-level window redirects and confirm your game works with third-party cookie restrictions disabled.
